    GALE FORCE WINDS EXPECTED THU

Wow, that is the most depressing forecast I’ve seen all season, it’s like Groundhog Day.

I guess that I'm not the only one suffering from fall fishing withdraw!
First it was the sharp fuel price increase that kept most of us close to the dock; and then the late onset of any decent ocean fluke fishing coupled with the early season closure, and throw in the lack of any yellowfin bite has really made the glass half full for me and my crew this season...

Now for good measure let's have a week or so of NE winds....

Other than the evaporation of our 401K plans, what's coming next for us?????

Ocean is smooth as a lake today. Ground swells spaced far apart and I got to work.

Some of the best fishing for me has been on the snottiest of days, I like North east winds it pushes the bigger fish up on us beach hounds. Using braid has help considerably in getting my presentation past the wind. I guess I' m just hooked on striper fishing. Now, gail force winds might be a bit too much, but there are always backwater areas behind barrier Islands that offer some protection from excess winds if the water doesnt get too dirty, The beginning of a blow is the best time to go and get a striper who needs to feed before the low pressure system shuts the bite down.
