Man what a day; snotty to say the least. We has steady bluefish and one striped bass on the shad rigs on the troll. The wind seemed to be a tad stronger than what NOAA was calling for; the ride in was a bit bumpy; but a nice day over all.
We started looking for bass off the hook. We saw birds working between the channels and managed to pick up 2 bass @ 27" and one bluefish on storm shads. We then headed to the Rocks and found acres of birds working. We jigged for an hour or two and only picked up blues along with a dogfish and one keeper sea bass.
We moved to the reef at 10:30am and anchored up. We picked a few small tog at first then we made a slight move and got some nice fish.We stayed there for the rest of the day catching around 20 keeper size tog to 8lbs.
The ride home in the bay was bumpy to say the least. We were in solid 4 footers from the tip to the ammo pier.
