Default 07 Outback vs. 09 Outback

I have an opportunity to buy a leftover 2007 Outback for $1200, I was going to wait for an 09' but I'm sure I won't be able to get one this cheap. Do you think the improvements to the 09's is worth paying more for?

from what Ive seen the changes are not all that great. The mirage drive latching in the 09 has been changed to a mechanical lock instead of a simple twisting locks. The rudder lever has been moved to potentially be in your way of adding accessories. And your right you won't find it any cheaper. All the money you save you can get it tricked out with all the toys.

You sure it isnt a 2008 leftover? As far as I heard no authorized dealers had any 2007's left last season. They were all calling me trying to get some of my surplus 08's off of me. Anyway yes on the 07. There is nothing wrong with the old locking mechanism and you will be saving $400 as long as you like the color.

Its advertised as an 07'. Do the 07's still have problems with the hull cracks that the earlier models had and what about the drive. I know there were some improvemnets in 08', are they significant improvements. I appreciate your input Barrell, thanks for replying.

I was told the problems are from guys not tightening the cams for the mirage drive enough. And that Hobie will replace the hull no problems anyway.

They reinforced the hull in 06.. Just make sure it is an authorized dealer so you will have a warranty.
