Fish lights from kayak??
Hey Guys,
Anyone ever try fish lights, floating or submersible for stripers ??? I know they work great on Hybride bass. Wondering if they would have the same effect for stripers
Thinking this might have an interesting results drifting eels at night
any thoughts on this??????

If you can stay in one place safely, it may work but I doubt it. If you're moving they'll spook. They're attracted to areas near lights but if the light moves they spook. I've even spooked fish from on top of a bridge just by my shadow moving. If you're near a light source the fish are already there. An underwater light is just going to light up the shadows that the fish want to be in.

The reason for thinking about this is we use to drift at night in the lakes with the fish lights and in about 1/2 hr in open water 80' you would have baitfish all in big balls and you would have the Hybrids staying outside the light(just like at bridges) but they would dart in and chase the bait. you could drop baits to them and catch them...
Just thought it might work while I'm out soaking some eels....
Those Utube clips of the Tarpon down south reminded me of the Hybrids and got me thinking

It might work....just saying if you're moving around I think it's probably going to spook the stripers. Find lights, the bait and stripers will already be there. The current runs pretty hard and it's tough to keep in one spot safely with a kayak.
