    Default Scale Pattern

What do you guys use for making scale patterns when painting? I have been experimenting with different fabrics and have come up with some great effects. I've been using metal clips to hold the fabric tight along the plug from the bottom and misting the top coat. Do you guys use fabric or a metal mesh? I assume there is no right answer since it's all experimental anyhow.

Most of the scale pattern fabrics come from sewing shops like "Stitch and Sew" Some guys use onion bags. I don't know anyone that uses metal.

Metal clips or clothes pins are used to hold the mesh fabric on while fogging the top coat.

now dont laugh and i'm NOT gay, go to kohls and go in the womens section look for the knee high stockings on the clearance rack. they have some cool looking patterns and they make for some interesting effects. and their cheap too. easy to stretch over the plugs and depending on how tight you stretch them you can change the effect. (choncho, sometimes men like to wear stretchie pants in their room, its for fun)

you better believe the first person i asked a week ago was my wife, who replied "what am i, a tramp?" guess that was not the best move but was also my first thought. they don't call them fishnets for nothing.
