    Default Friday Afternoon/Evening

Uh....nothing much doing on the Flats yesterday. Good news is the water is fairly decent and quite fishable most places. Temps have skyrocketed as well. Found as high as 57 late in the afternoon. Bad news is a lot of folks caught nothing yesterday, or maybe one or two.
Spoke with several other boats (nothing else to do) no one reported action. I didn't go up in the river, but I believe some big fish were caught up there on bait.

Finally as the sun set a little bite developed in a very small spot with a nice running outgoing current. Several boats dropped anchor in the drift, blocking access for anyone else to get in on the fish. Hate when that happens, but I don't own the water!

    Better luck today I hope.

Cap, I thought you did own that piece of water. Tough day all around, heard from friends that were down there, same story. The tourney this weekend will make it even tuffer. I'm going to let it settle down a little and try to get down a couple days next week. I hope this up and comming rain doesn't screw things up again.
Glad to hear temps and clarity are getting better. Ed if I find em, I'll give you a call.

capt ed, fished until 1130 up in the river with bait, and several boats around us didnt have a fish at all. one guy caught a real nice fish on live. and that was it.. we had one run off that possibly could have been a striped one. besides for that 1 catfish.

Thanks Capt. Ed for the update. I was out Friday with my son and it was slow but we did manage a few up to 18#. My son had two good ones pop off near the boat (I think since it was our first trip that he was a little excited). He and I also caught two large mouth bass. I knew we should of entered that BASS tournament!

My brothers and I fished just off the flats on Friday with real good results . We had one in the forties, one in the thirties and a whole bunch in the twenties (pounds) and plenty of 18 -20 inch fish. When one of our buddies called on the radio and asked how we were doing and we told them and one wise a$$ said " yeh and we caught a tarpon and a wahoo too". The bite was pretty good all day except when you get one ding dong that has to plow through and area where everybody is anchored at thirty miles an hour.
