Default Who got caught in yesterday's storms?

We were fishing the at claw yesterday. We then headed in towards the Cayru/Lemkes around 3pm. We got hit with the storm on our way back in (about 40 miles offshore). Scarey stuff. Rain, wind and a lite up sky was our constant companion for over 1 hour. At the end of it I was a soaked rat. There were 5 barners on my friend's 32 Stuart Angler. We masked our fear by joking around and focusing on the task at hand (driving through the storm).

How did everyone fare out there?

we were only flatty fishing but with the serios weather we timed the storm so that we were back at the dock with rods cleaned going into the cabin before the weather hit ,i do love it ,the bad part was we were in the canyon once and had a storm off the coast and one on land i watched it all nite to see that neither one was heading for us , so i got no sleep , we hit nothing , so i thought if i did not have this new knowledge i would have slept ,and never have known about the 2 storms ,the jury is still out on this one

I ran into the storms yesterday running in, we were about 12 off when we hit them. I think we got lucky because we saw very little lightning where we were, there was lots of ran and some decent winds. Luckly we had no problems runn ing in the23' reg.

We were at Monster Ledge and decided to hit the barn @ noon. We made it to Long Branch when we saw the wall of black clouds and huge lighning strikes at Atlantic Highlands our home port . Ran back south to Shark river and tied up.

We fished the same spot as you and when we left there was only 1 boat left..lol as he anchored up and refered to us as the "little CC" we wished him luck and and fired up the yami's.
We packed up and headed in around 1 or 2pm I guess, we hit the storm around 25 miles off and got pummeled... We still ran 25-30 knots in a

Wasn't that bad just glad everyone seemed to get in ok.

    Default We were about

250 yards from our house in my son's 13 ft whaler. Made it in in plenty of time. Seriously, many boats and jetskis hauling up mill creek. Could not have been fun out there.

We left the trunk around 3pm yesterday and hit the leading edge of it about 35 miles offshore. It was pretty heavy stuff but we plowed right through it in the 40' fins and grins! Glad everyone made it back safe.

Sorry for getting you so wet Peter, the other 4 of us seemed relatively dry. Guess the bean bag became a funnel...
We ran, and seemed that storm was our "Black Cloud"; followed us for, what 10-15 miles, dissipated at 15 miles off, That damn line of storms became our overhead for a long time......
All in all i enjoyed the trip, as I hope you did, and look forward to having future successful trips...
That line of storm, seems to have went to a ball, which we just could not get out of.................
When you read a storm at 72 miles, and as we tried to look for the cut through, just did not work.
We came safe, and no one injured or hurt, except for Frank's cut early in the day, and that is most important.........
no harm , no foul....... well foul weather.
    Will reach out again,

Just finished gasing up when the storm hit us. We fished first light, short of the claw. Boated a nice 54" Bluefin early. The afternoon forecast said there were storms due. We called it quits and headed in after 11:00am. Glad we did. Certainly didn't want to get caught out in that mess. Back at the dock was bad enough. Made rinsing down after washing the 35' Donzi center console easy. Thanks to buds with great judgement we were out of harms way.
