Default Striper fishing is like crack

Once you get a hit you get addicted to it. I feel like going fishing every day just to get a hit lol. Any body feeling the same way? BTW this is not a cheap hobby either.

    Default Could be more expensive

If you compare it to drifting spot through the rips or buying a box of bunker for chunking in the bay, the back bay fishing is a bargain!

Haha, totally agree. I'm literally going stir-crazy waiting for the word to fire up my boat for the first jigging trip of the year. The birds busting the surface, fish finder lighting up like a Christmas tree, ahhhh nothing like it.

And for the first time in a few years, I'm going to be doing a lot of surf fishing this season as well in LBI.

it is worst than drugs, at least with drugs you can stay in where it is warm & dry and nod off, can't do that fishing for stripers in the spring or fall. Have you ever seen a die hard bass fishermen sell his rods & reels to do drugs, might be the other way around sells them so he can go fishing

Fisherman are just like fiends, doing whatever it takes to get what they're after

And I'm going to have to start selling drugs for fishing money soon, getting ready for fall has me broke!

After 3 days straight trying to get a hit without luck I think I should call off and wait for a few more weeks.

Striper, Tog, Fluke........... I get a kick out of all of it.

    - Having a 4 rod spread out (2 clam, 2 spot) and waiting for a pole to double over

    - Drifting a live Peanut, waiting for the initial "snagged feeling", then the massive headshakes of a doormat

    - Sending a green crab down, waiting for that "thunk" of a slob tog, then hoping you get him off the wreck

It's all great stuff. Hell, even pulling up a nice double header of 17" Sea Bass or a big fat Trigger is great fun.

And the best part just may be heading across the bay before daybreak, knowing you've got a big jump on a great day and anticipating what's out there waiting to be caught.
