    Default Damn mother nature!!!!

I've been Waiting paitiently all year for stripers so it would be fitting that after busting my hump to get the boat ready, and setting up to go out today with the early reports of fish, mother nature has to throw a curve ball in my plans and blow in a cold front. Why couldnt it just rain . I went as far as getting lunch hooking the boat up on the truck and all the other fun stuff you have to do the night before a trip. Then i decide to check the barn for an up to date report. I am really glad i did because i then saw a post about thursday being windy. i went and checked the weather report and sure enough it was gonna blow. decided i would see what it was like when i woke up. Woke up my normal time for fishing and walked outside on my deck in wenonah. Winds were sustained at about 12mph. so i know it is blowing in the bay. Oh well thats just another sign that it is time to catch stripers. Thanx to the barn i was not dissapointed when i got up to go this morning being that i had a heads up. looks like sat. is gonna be nice. so changed my bait order to then. Good luck to everyone this season. be safe .

Yeah, I don't fool around with MN like I used to, guess I'm a little older and wiser and it ain't really prime time yet. 5 footers is pushing the limits.

    I hear ya... but!!!

The best fishing is less than 1/4 of a mile from the ramp in most cases.
The biggest fish I caught last year were less than a 4 minute ride from my slip. JUST GO

I hear you with the W$#@- I start my 2 week vacation Sat and looked at the waether- looks like its going to blow staedy 10-15 and at times 20knts Sunday night into Wensday night of next week. Well, the lower bay is a no-go in my 17CC. anything over 10mph and I won't step foot in the lower bay. Just have to work hard in the mid to upper. Worse comes to worse, I'll just take my old mans john boat and go crabbn in the marsh's. This happens every fall when I pick a vacation (I pick defferent weeks in the fall every year) and this year I picked 2 weeks back to back, hopefully one week is nice- right?

    Mr. Agony, misery likes company.
My boat's cocked, locked, loaded, sitting at the dock. Planned Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. You already know about today, no go, Saturday, heavy winds vs tide, not even going to try. Sunday looks fishable. Welcome to another Striper season in the Bay! Ken, Lostboys

Many times I have went down anyway most of the time the reports are wrong, but most of us know if they are calling for 2-3foot its usually 4-5 just don't know if it is worth getting my but kicked this early in the season. Thanks for all of the replys folks. I think Saturday I'm gonna at least give it a try. Good luck guys.
