Out on my own on Sunday. Tried to get shedders but ended up using chicken in shedder oil and spot that I bought at the Girl's Place. I fished the stakes off of Bidwell on the last of the incoming and caught about 20 croakers with out a weakfish. Getting frustrated I moved south about a half mile which was just north of the Bug and finally caught a few spikes at the turn of the tide. Once the tide started to run I had a steady pick of weakies until I had my limit. Biggest weakie was around 16"s with most in the 14 to 15 inch range. I also took nine nice blues home so it was a busy afternoon at the fish cleaning station.
Fished in about 16 to 18 feet of water and used three rods which kept me busy all day. Berkley gulps tipped with chicken or spot was the ticket.
There was frost on the boat in the morning. Guess I'm bringing the rest of the enclosure next week to get the boat rigged for those striped ones.![]()
