Default Renegade - Sunday Humbling Report - Really Sucked For Once

Wasn't going to post but even bad info can be useful for all. Started off at the AC Reef jigging a few bass on solid marks. Should of stayed but did not. No need to read further.

Ran south as far as IBSP and considered the HC Lump which was producing but a 28 mile ride back in NE 20 kt was not an option. Ran all over backtracking, jigged south of MI out 3 miles and all over the place, landed close to 40 dogfish, 10 bluefish but no more bass. Trolling was not an option but would of produced as the doggies were simply relentless. Oh well, running everyday this week see the open boat thread for schedule. Hopefully the jumbos off Fire Island get a little chilly and push south soon, like by tomorrow.

Very true, air bladders on both doggies and bass can fool a lot of fishfinders.

    Default Tough

He Mike, saw you and capt. Ken out yesterday (SAT) I was on a buddies boat.
I heard today was tough all over, except down off of Harvey cedars. I am sure you gave it a great effort. Glad I chose to rake leaves. Have a good week, i will be out tuesday or wed.

    Default Smart move

Your choice to not run any further south was a smart one. Ran all the way to old Barney. Nothing biting down there. We ducked in there and ran back through the bay. Seemed easier then pounding our way back into those sea's. Then back out M.I. inlet. Where as Matt said we managed to jig up a couple more Blues and Dogs. Covered a lot of water with not to much to show for it.
