2 keepers tonight at 21 and 22" . a handful of shorts, and tons of missed short strikes. probably woulda lit up the shorts if i fished smaller baits... 5" and 6" swimming mullet only. LOVE the 5"..but its so much softer then other gulp and gets ripped up so easily.

    Default Back Bay Dolphin

Spent about 11 hours on the back bay of SH Sunday. Best part of the day happened just minutes after hitting the water. Was pedalling out when a small pod of dolphin surfaced right next to me. Took a minute to get my phone out to catch some video but did get a good clip from the yak. (lower your volume as the wind is loud)

After that is was a fairly miserable day. Cloudy, cool, and very windy. The wind just made it very difficult to do anything effectively. Finished with 1 short flounder.

Saw a couple yakkers leaving the water at Nummy. Didn't get close enough to say hello.

Went back out again for almost the whole outgoing near BI. Covered a lot of ground but could not buy bite during the lowering tide. When the tide switched around 5:30 I did hook up with a keeper fluke and got him right next to they yak but I missed with the net. He had hit the teaser and when I went to net him he juked me and I caught the bucktail in the net instead and that fouled the net all up. I frantically tried to undo the hook from the jumbled up net but he did a little shake/shimmy and spit the teaser hook. A real kick in the balls at the end of a 6 hour trip. To add insult to injury I lost a nice custom bucktail to a snag on the next drift . Still great to be out on the water though and so fewer boats than the weekend which is always a plus

Fish hit on 1 pearl 4" twister tail about 13" above a green/black 1/4oz bucktail. Going to try the incoming again probably tomorrow.

Yakked manasquan this morning. from like 630 to 8ish. 2 keepers at 19 and 20 about a dozen shorts. white gulp on lead heads was hot. fished on a trout rod rated 4-12 so it was a blast on every fish. hopefully be out again soon.

Fished before and after work yesterday. Kinda suucked with some shorts being caught both trips. Got good as it got dark near some lights and we started really getting into fish. I dropped a heavvyy fish. Buddy and i each released close keepers..then i got one at 18, and he got a faatt sundial that he swore tasted good. I now like sundial more then fluke. It was delicious

    Default Finally a Better Bite

Drifted the WW ICW from 7:30am-1:30pm while jigging a white bucktail with a 4" chartruese Gulp mullet and a gold hook with a minnow teaser.

Landed 3, missed 1. Two were barely keepers (but keepers none the less). 2 hit the minnow, 1 hit the Gulp. Had 2 large Oyster Crackers (Toad Fish) on the Gulp as well.

Spoke to a guy on a Pro Angler and another on an Outback.

Wind was finally tolerable. Had a couple fly-bys from some greenheads but no bites.

6/23. 4pm start, Drifted behind avalon, lost one boatside that might have kept right off the bat. Nithing for the rest of the outgoing. Went looking for some triggers for the slack tide with no luck. Drifted back to the launch with no othing to show. Had some crabs left so i figured id try to find some slower water eddies for triggers again. Got 3 little tautog, then a nice surprise. Didnt think these guys were around yet, and it was a first for me. 24"............gonna try to post pic from my phone............i should be able to figure it out
