We were catching em off the beach in SIC area on saturday. 4-5ft browns seemed to like mackerel heads over anything else.

Ok so this is gonna sound like a bit of a stupid question. Ive only made a few posts on the boards so im still a newbe here. Ive been fishing though for over 30 yrs. Ive hit a recent run of bad luck in my life but fishin is something that helps me out. Ive never gone after shark or any other large fish and i want to give it a try. Hell i just wnjoy the fishing period no matter what it is. Grew up n fresh water going after 20+ lb carp and cats on ultra light gear . 2 lb test loose drags and 5 foot poles. So i know how to fight the fish.im starting to get back into the saltwater and surf aspects now. What do i really need set up wise fir goin after the shark and bigger game fish. My current set ups are low end gear. Both sheakspear rod and reel combos. Both spinning reels with 40# braid on them. No shockers or backers. I realize these wont cut it for the big game.what do i really need as far as weight and length go on the poles and lines. Is there somewhere on the south jersey coast .. Ac and south that i can go to and talk with and have options for set ups. Roughly what would a rig cost me. At this point im unemployed, waiting on a call for an orientation appointment so i can go back to work . So i have atleast through the end of this week off and possibly next as well. Any help or info as to who to talk or go and see would be greatly appriciated

    http://www.tx-sharkfishing.com/shark-fishing/

I did it last year, caught and released over 40 sand tiger's biggest 8'6" 250lbs+. Done with it now, got old.

Best bite is from 9pm to 3am.

Go to local fish cleaning bait shops, use flounder head/rockfish head/mahi head/tuna head.

Walk along beach if ur there during the day, if someone catches a skate go grab it and kill it, best bait, and crabs dont touch it!

sign up at Landbasedsharkfishing.com and read the shark handbook at tx-sharkfishing.com

selling my rod holders, I have four of them, let me know if your interested.

pictured below, 2" galvanized 5 foot long with rubber inserts so you dont scratch your reels/rod gimble, plus a gimble mount.

if interested email me @ slickstercav@yahoo.com

pic of me with a 7'er last year:
