To apply to ocfc,at this point send letter to ocfc,po box 1215, ocean city,nj 08226 attention Frank Pizzutilla. They take new members in the spring. After current members either renew or drop. The club is set for 2012' you would apply for 2013. That's how it gets done. He will probably send you an application

Post Ocfc 100 yr tournament - update #2

Regarding prize money, there is a separate or extra prize package for all female teams, a women's team could win any of the overall prizes and win an extra prize. In order for that to happen, there must be a minimum of ten all women teams. If thre are less than ten all women teams, the prize money allocated for top five women's finishers would be put into the overall prize structures. that means Overall first place would be worth $6500. Instead of $5000..... That means we are basing the extra prizes on an expectation that we need at least ten percent of the teams competing to be women's teams. Of course that depends on registration. We close registration at 100 teams.. The first 100 are in...

    Default Update # 3 - Registration Begins 1 October

Registration begins on 1 October 2012 for the October 2013 Tournament.
    1. The best method is to visit http://www.oceancityfishingclub.com and
select the Menu Bar for the 100 yr Anniversary Tournament. There you find a document that explains the Registration Process and you will find the
    Registration Form.

    2. We hope to do most of it electronically but if direct mail is required we
will do that as well. We have set up a Facebook Page named Ocean City Fishing Tournament and will have a Twitter account as well. I will put that access information on this Forum as soon as possible as update #4. We will also use this Forum to make announcements and when a team has registered and what number this team has been assigned. Also have to watch for all womens teams since we need at least 10 to activate the womens prize division.

Default Update # 4 - We have a Facebook Page

    1. We set up a Facebook Page that will allow us to make announcements when a team registers (for those who do not know about Bass Barn), allow us to have dialog with people who may have questions about the tournament or about Ocean City itself. Allow us to post updates on Facebook and Bass Barn. That should give us a wide coverage.

    2. The Facebook site can be found at Ocean City Fishing Club Tournament

    3. We got great news from the City when they gave us full use of the Sports and Civic Center at 6th and the Boardwalk for Tournament HQ and as sites for the Tackle Show and Dinner

Default Update # 5 - Change in Womens Division

    1. Our original plan was to create a Women's Division that would promote and recognize the role of Women in Surf Fishing and also allow some competion between Women's Team. In our early announcement we said it was possible for a Women's Team to win more than one prize. After attending the Hatteras Tournament and discussing our plans with groups that run large tournaments and talking to several of the Women's Teams
(15 of 97 were all Women's Teams) it was determined that we can not give two prizes to a Women's Team. No one thought it was fair and as result we
will change our rules to award a Women's Team the prize for the highest finish. If they finish in the Top 5 overall, they would not be eligible to win a womens prize. The highest scoring Women's Teams that do not finish in the overall top 5, will win first, second, or third prize. We also eliminated 4th and 5th place and added more money to the overall prizes. This was based on meeting with other organizations and addressing concerns over equitable prizes and overall concern that it was unfair as first described.
    Overall 1st - $5500.,2nd-$3000.,3rd-$2500.,4th-$1750,5th-$1500. and
    Womens 1st-$1000.,2nd-$500.,3rd-$250.

    I thought you were quitting?

Fair and sensible change. Merchantville discussed this at our last meeting and will have at least two teams entered. Working on a 3rd. Money will be sent shortly after the New Year.

Gonna be a great event. Something that Ocean City and Ocean City Fishing Club will be proud to have hosted when it's over and done. Just don't let the 0.25" es get you down! Chuckle chuckle.......

    Default To CircleHook re Registration

If I dont get over the nightmares that ASAC scoring presents, I will leave the country. Glad you mentioned Registration... to date no one has offically registered although there is lots of chatter. I heard of one team that is running a 50/50 to raise the entrance fee. We will cut off Registration at First 100 Teams (God Willing) or September 1. Also, we will need ten all Womens Teams to activate the Womens Division. Hopefully they will be among the first 100 teams. We are looking forward to at least two Merchantville Teams.. dad wags would be proud of you guys....

Default Update # 6 - Rules Adjustment and Recap

Update # 6 - Tournament and Scoring Rules adjusted..
After attending the Hatteras tournament, there were some lessons learned.
Regarding the Tournament Rules, some statements were added regarding
Authorized changes in assigned fishing positions, Tie breakers for largest fish awards , Sportsmanlike conduct on the beach, and a requirement for Judges to examine Coolers and Live Wells prior to the start of a Fishing Session.

Regarding the Scoring Rules, since we do not have a Youth Division, we will count every entry as an adult and as such removed the statement that said anglers may cast for an under 13 youth. The statement now reads "all anglers must cast and land fish themselves". However since this an ASAC Tournament, if there are youth fisherman ON AN ASAC REGISTERED TEAM, those results will be forwarded to ASAC for the annual records.

These Rules can be reviewed at http://www.oceancityfishingclub.com by
looking at the Menu Bar for 100 Year Tournament.

Recap of Updates 1 through 5:
Update # 5 - Changes in Womens Team Prize Structure
    Update # 4 - Announcement of a FaceBook Page
    Update # 3 - Registration Now Open
    Update # 2 - Original Price Structure
    Update # 1 - Initial Tournament Announcement

Update # 7 - Rules additions and Beach Access 1. We have added some things to the Rules.. When a team registers at tournament time, they will list six members. Those six make up the team for the duration of the tournament. No substitutions are permitted once Tournament starts. 2. Beach Access is free on Tournament Fishing days. Teams will be given three Beach passes. The Ocean City Police Department will allow Beach Access from Sunday Oct 13 Through Thursday Oct 16 for a small fee. They have not determined that fee or the process required to obtain an early access Beach Pass. When they do, the process will be added to the Rules. 3. We strongly advise that any fisherman in the Tournament should register with the NJ Salt Water Registry. The temptation for NJ to show up and start checking when they realize that we may have 600 fisherman on the Beach is strong. We put the link to register in the Rules and will put it on our Web Site. 4. We also added the Tie Breaker Rules. Visit the OCFC WEB Site to review the info. Registration is under way and we are receiving registrations. Remember that registration is cut off at 100 Teams. The Tackle Show is coming along and details will be published soon.
