You can go so many ways with kayak fishing. Do some research first. I am a paddler so my kayak is a Wilderness System Tarpon 140. It is a 14ft sit-on-top. I like a SOT because it is easy to add things like rod holders, fish finders and a milk crate for tackle storage. I also feel they are more stable.
Then you have the guys who prefer to pedal and they most likely are using a Hobie Outback or Pro-angler. This type of kayak allows you to be hands-free to fish.
There are so many brands to chose from but you do get what you pay for. If you would be interested in a Hobie, check in with Barrel in the kayak section of Bassbarn. He has a shop in Brigantine and he will help you out. He has other kayaks as well I think. Belhaven Paddle Sports is a shop near Batsto and they have a big selection as well. The web is a great way of seeing what others are doing with their kayaks. I think one of the funnest things about kayak fishing is setting up your kayak to meet your needs!

SIC, nice set up partner. Just one question, is it difficult to access the milk crate when you want to change tackle, or get to you equip. in the milk crate? Just curious. Thanks SIC

Ippomatic: It takes a little getting used to. I often need to take one of the outside rods out to reach my Plano boxes. I try to remember which box is where before I go out but I get it mixed up because I am becoming an old fart now!

I just added this to my kayak about 2 weeks ago. I am just finding out how much it can help my "catching"...
