Default So, Do You Think The Tog Are In The Back Yet?

Just pulled this guy up in one of my crab traps. This is off of a bulkhead far back in Mystic Island.
Didn't measure him, but he was 11-12 inches. Am I really going to have to try togging off my bulkhead?

The traps are stuffed every night, but the crabs are almost all 4"-5". I really don't like going through the effort unless their 5"+, and I'm keeping maybe 1 of every 20 at most.

So I'm getting them, but not in any picture worth quantity.

Tog usually are closer to the inlet but the smaller ones probably have to find less popular pieces. They are selective as to where they hang out for sure.

I have never before seen a throwback tog in a picture with carpet in the background.....

Also, concentrating closer to the inlets can be more productive, but there are going to be tog at certain times of the year sitting on every piece of structure that holds water at low tide.

Well, there is a first time for everything, isn't there, smart ass?

Took it in to show the kids, who were already in bed.

And yes, I do understand the concept that larger Tog would be closer to the inlet, but hey, that was the first Tog I've ever seen off a Mystic bulkhead, I thought some of the fisherman on the site might get a kick out of it.

There is SO MUCH that I should be trying at/near that bridge near me, and it's to my own detriment that I don't, but I just can help but head for the ocean every time I leave my creek.

I know, and it's in the Barn by laws that I'm required to bust back.
