Default Back bay low profile baitcaster for salt

I am looking for a low profile baitcsting reel I can use on the yak for fluke. Prefer a low profile baitcaster that will stand up to the salt. I will be casting and bucktailing with 8-10 lb line. Only somewhat reasonable reel I have found so far is the Diawa coastal. I will probably pair it to a st croix rod.

    suggestions????

I've been using a Curado 200 size for all my back bay fishing (bass, fluke, weakies, tog, blues, etc.) more drag than needed, light weight, casts very well, & easy to maintain.

I have them in different gear ratios for different applications from working bucktails and jigs on the bottom and casting lures.

Ill second the currado. I have the smaller version and it casts like a charm. good drag.. Wish it had a clicker so I could also use for bait fishing...

The ABU Revo supposed to be a good one too..

I was a freshwater freak for years and have a drawer full of Curados that have held up fine for backbay from the boat, but you really...REALLY, have to stay on top of cleaning and lubing them if you want them to really last in the salt.

The good news is that they can be disassembled really easily and the gearbox is sealed pretty good. But if you dunk it, you are going to have to do the breakdown.

If you have a video camera, set it up on your bench when you take it apart the first time and narrate the steps to yourself out loud... it will make re-assembly very easy.

Mine have held up well in the salt for 3+ years with no trouble. If you dunk any reel you'll have issues unless its fully sealed and made to be dunked like a VS.

If you need normal maintenance and or an overhaul/upgrade there are plenty of Barn sponsors that will take care of your reel for you with a quick turnaround and at a fair price.
