How much is the first question. How many hours is the second. What year is the third.

friend had one. Said ran great and good in most seas. Only drawback he had was it rocked real bad. Make sure you take test ride but also stop and drift a bit. See if you like that part. Good Luck either way.

Awesome hull and granddaddy to modern hulls. Will run with a 23 regulator or contender. I/O sucks, but I
f the price is right! Buddy has one with 2000 Volvo 5.0 and the engine is finicky, but he got it cheap.

SAdams of the barn has one, he's usually only on the offshore forum.

His is a mercruiser efi jackshafted to a bravoIII. I assume this is a jackshaft?

I have fished his boat extensively. What I can tell you it is probably one of the best rides in the 26 and under class. Probably better than the 26 Reg even. Its wet, but will knife through anything, and with the engine forward, I have never seen it pound, not once.

With an efi its a miser on fuel. Absolute miser.

The one downside is that it is wet. I said that allready. But its ride outshines any worry of that.

It is a very deep v hull. So it will cut through big seas. But this causes it to want to list. Trim tabs straighten that out under way. But drifting in big seas it will rock and roll. Its a trade off for running in big seas. That is a great boat. It is designed for trolling.

I had a 26 jackshaft Albemarle. The jack shaft makes noise when the boat is in neutra. You'll think something is wrong, there isn't. Ours was a Volvo dup prop. They do rock. West Marine sells a product called rocker stoppers. They look like a shortened traffic cone.
We bought 8, and put four on a rope over each side with a mushroom anchor on the bottom. That took 80% of the roll away. You need to put a trip line down to the anchor so you can haul it up sideways and they shed water. If you are short drifing they are more trouble then they're worth. We used them in the canyon all the time on the drift.

They are a nice hull. But I wouldn't take that boat with an I/O....

I had one for 8 years. I have to say when I sold it and bought my new boat i almost got sick going out the inlet with then new ride. i spent all that money on a 28 and the Albemarle ride was far Superior. It totally spoiled me. The one I had had a 290 outdrive and I wished for a bit more speed. Albemarle just does not push the Hp on there boats. You can run them hard but I was into getting the most out of it and cruised it 3200 RPM.That boat will tear up the seas at speed and I think it ran better faster. I needed no trim when I ran it harder. The douprop should give you some more speed. It is very wet quartering the seas in wind but overall not a bad handling boat. It does lean a lot in turns and if you really push it you can get the gunnel even with the water but it wont come in. The big negative is the roll. I had a pretty heavy hard top with a radar up there and it rolled even in calm seas. I used 3 rocker stoppers a side weighted down with 10 pound dumbbells and it got the roll about what a mod-V would be but they sucked when someone stepped on them. They crack easy( they still work cracked). I bought it with a new engine and I put 850 hours on it. That boat will see a third engine easy. Very heavy with thick gel coat. No rot.
The Volvo penta is a tough outdrive but only let people than know volvos work on the outdrives. I learned first hand and learned to fix myself. The clutch needs to be shimmed when you have shifting issues. Most Merc guys dont know volvo. The engines are very easy to work on. If you dont mind rolling you'll love it. It was great to be able to sit down on the way in and drink a cup of coffee when the guys next to you is pounding his butt off.

Great running hull. Yes it will roll but the ride more than makes up for it. Our sales manager liked it so much he built one for himself. Good luck with it...

Double G had one for a while. I went out on it a couple of times and have to agree that although they ride fantastic, they do tend to roll. Double G had "speed rails" installed on his and he said that they greatly reduced the rolling. Might want to shoot him an e-mail.

Awesome boat so long as you never have a problem with the Duo-Prop outdrive.
