Default Hobie revo 11/pedal drive flukin

Went out yesterday and got the crap kicked out of me but the revo held up nice, even fishing next to the channel with big boats blasting by.

This was my first trip fluking in tough conditions with the yak. All I can say is that pedal drive made the wind against tide almost a non issue. Im not gonna sit here and pretend it was all gravy (My body feels like I was in a fight last night) but I probably caught btw 20-25 fish and wouldnt have even sniffed that if I wasnt able to peddal with the tide into the wind.

Anybody else use the drive while drifiting? (Im sure this has probably been covered here already, I apologize if it has)

This is my first yak, I bought it over the winter. By far the best fishing related investment Ive ever made. Im 6'3" and way about 190 and have no problems with the small revo. Best thing is it's so light, I can launch where others cant.

On sat that's what it took for me to also get fluke. Can't wait for the best drift conditions.

I love it for drifting. Can't beat it with a stick, gives you the ability to creep your drift and slow your presentation down.

work wind vs tide, work wind with tide, work slack tide. I think my feet never stop moving when I am on the water....always kinda ticking along.

my favorite is working the sod banks with it, keeping the nose of the kayak just off the sod.

the mirage drive is the bees knees. add a little rudder to change the slip angle of the drift and you have a serious flukin' machine.

i will say tho that wind vs tide is my least favorite as the water is pushing one end of the yak one direction and the wind is working on another end of the yak...often leading many corrections in a drift. My favorite is either wind with tide in the exact same direction or wind 90 degrees to tide.
