Did you ever eat one? Try it you may be surprised.
2 weekends ago while striper fishing at the rocks hooked up a 6' blue shark on a fluke rod with a 6oz spro with a white grub.
He came up along side our boat and was bumping our bait bucket that was sitting next to our livewell overflow port which was full of bunker.Fought him for about 10 mins and then he broke the line, closest to shore ive ever seen a bluedog.pretty awesome
Im sure they are a breed of shark but being 2 or 3 feet long, not really "sharks".
Thanks
Greg
my buddy seen thresher jump 20 feet away infront of ammo pier
I'm pretty sure they were sand sharks, maybe they did have white tips. Definitely not dog fish, most of them in the 2-3 foot range, I just thought it was wierd, I fished the same spot the week before and maybe had 3-4 all day.
Not looking to bust your balls but if it had white spots on it its probably a spinny dogfish wich is also comonly called a sand shark. True sand sharks are not that common in our area that you would catch 20 or 30 of them but smooth and spinney dogfish are.
