    Default Stellas

    Hit Stellas on Tuesday.
Total overcast, cool with the wind light and variable, water temp 70~, PERFECT. We marked fish from top to bottom and threw any and all artificials that would reach them, but only scored 2 dinks by noon.
By noon the clouds started to break loose showing the sun and resulting in major heat. Time to go, just too hot.
    Ramp still in a rut!
You might think that all of the fees collected from ramps in state parks here in the south and all of the money that is being spent on the northern lakes......the ramp at Stellas could at least be scraped.
    Just one persons opinion.......

That condition helps to keep the crowds down. Use cartops much easier

Good point FT, but my license fees and taxes help pay for the lake to be accessed.

Just FYI, the ramp fees collected by the State Parks division go back into the NJ general treasury. The NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife, which operates NJ WMA's such as Penbryn Pond (Stellas) have their own funding from fishing/hunting licenses & some fed funding.

I'll see what I can find out about getting that ramp improved a bit.

Already submitted a request to have it looked at. If I don't get a positive reply, photos would be great. Hopefully we'll get payback for that nice clean-up we did at Union Lake WMA a week and a half ago.

Also, an SJBCA member club "adopted" that lake and should be keeping an eye on conditions there and alerting NJDFW to anything that requires attention (or is starting to deteriorate). I'll check with them to see if they've asked about ramp improvements.
