    Default Recovery practice

Spent some time in my pool checking the tipping point of my Outback and practicing recoveries. Also checked to see if I could stand in it. Wasn't hard but very unstable. I would be comfortable fishing while standing in it.

Glad I got some practice in before a real need.

Not to sound like a dick...but try in something besides your pool. Pool practice will give you the basics, but current and waves make a HUGE difference when trying to self rescue. I thought I had it under control with pool practice, when I finally turtled my Revo in the Del. Bay under less than ideal conditions things were a lot tougher. I now have one of waterbug's ladders and have practiced with it. Big difference in righting my loaded yak. Cheap insurance!!

No doubt. This was just step 1 and something to do right at home.

I got recovery practice last summer while out in the bay fully loaded with a broken hand... Wasn't fun and lost a bunch of stuff including 2 rods... But... If I can do it with one arm I know I'm good with two!
