my report.. this morning got out with some buddies doing the yak for fluke,,they caught keepers,, i sulked not really its always a good cardio workout.. and the water is my church though sometimes my pew has splinters ... I did think I finally hooked-up into my goliath only to have a 6 lb angry blue surface.

I looked at the ocean while doing 40mph.

LAst evening. 6-9. Consistent action. Incoming tide, water mid 70s onshore breeze 1-2 chop. Caught 1 king, 1 skate, 1 croaker, 6 dogfish, 1 spot. Spot was livelined and got slammed but did not hook up. Caught a bunch of bait with cast net but not sure what type of fish it was. Guy next to me caught bluefish. North end Ocean City.

LBI out front this morning. Picked up 6 fluke on 3/4 oz jig head and gulp. 2 keepers, 21" and 19" (3.7lb and 2.6 lb). It's tough weeding through the kingfish detailing my gulp. I hope everyone stays safe through this nasty storm about to roll in.

we used "carolina rigs" with 1 oz weight and a floating jighead tipped with minnies or gulp.

    Caught 4 short flounder.

Switched to the 3/8 oz spro BT at slack and had lots of hits but i missed everyone.

At the tide change the crap started flowing out of the bay b/c of the recent storms and the Higher tide than normal so we left.

It was hard walking out with that much water piled into the park.

Lots of bait in the shallows.
Nice report Bill, informative, helpful, good details.

Nice sharks, pics are worth a 1000 words.

As for me, I went to Ocean City for a day at the beach with the wife and threw bucktail tipped with gulp and a teaser around high tide and then tried for kings at low. Caught the skunk, but had a few hours of nice surfing in between.

    Default Sea Isle kings

I fished a beach in northern Sea Isle with a buddy at low tide. We each caught 4 kings and about a half dozen doggies on bloodworms and fishbites. Not stellar for kings by any stretch, but it is nice to see they are finally making their way to Sea Isle. Very long casts at low tide to catch the kings. Ravenous 2-inch spot are in close and will take your bait instantly if you cast short.

    Echo,

I guess that would be what I saw at a Strathmere Beach as the tide started to come in...Boat loads of small bait fish running in with the waves... Im gonna have to get my casting net down there next time. Did you catch any an use them for bait?
