Default First all-nighter for the season

With the help of many Wawa 24oz coffees, I did my firt all-nighter of the 2012 season.

Spent the Saturday with the family and at 10pm decided that I was going fishing. Due to trying to save money and not pay tolls, took the back roads down to OC and arrived there at midnight.

First spot was a dark fishing pier where I threw a white grub on a jighead hoping for a striper,,,,no luck.

Second spot was a lit pier where it was slack high tide. I usually have luck with night fluke in that situation, so I put a Gulp Swimming Mullet on the jighead and bounced it around the pier. Ended up with two short fluke.

Third spot was a lit bridge where I threw the Gulp without any hits. The tide was moving pretty good so I switched over to a 6" white grub to try for a blue, striper, or weakie.......no hits.

Fourth spot was at a dark pier where there's some light from a bridge in the distance. Jigged the Gulp with a couple of hits, but no hookups.

By now it was 5am and I was too tired to hang around for the daylight bite so I grabbed another Wawa Coffee and made the drive home. In bed by 7am and slept till 10pm to do some family stuff.

The fish may not have been there, but your effort sure was. Nice use of time and space, getting everything done including family obligations. Keep it up and good things will happen. Nice report.

Thanks. That's how I got into night fishing. I made sure I spent my weekends with the wife and kids. I found the Barn and learned that ffishing isn't just a daytime game. In fact, I like fishing at night better. After a week of work and family obligations, it's nice to have some quiet "me time".

I'm on vacation next week and have plans to go with the family to the Gettysburg area for 3 days. I'm sure I'll get a couple of all-nighters in during the week. Will post reports.
