    open mouth bring hook up through upper jaw, always use a circle hook

    There is a little "cleft" in the top of their jaw... up thru the mouth and out.

    I did it this way. First couple drifts for fluke i hooked em through the back and ended up with really bad line twist.

    Fished today with some very good fishermen on Chesapeake. We used around 100 spot on the day and caught over 40 stripers with them. All hooked just ahead of dorsal fin about a quarter to half inch in from the very top of the fish. No tangles and lively baits all day.
