Default Have you ever wondered about emergency contact info for Sandy Hook?

I know that it has come up a few times but I actually chatted with the coasties at Sandy Hook today; and this is the information that shared with me; my question to them was in regard to the number that I should leave on a float plan for families and friends if we were overdue (our float plan gives clear instruction on when and how we qualify as overdue and what action should be taken).
    ---------

Sector Sandy Hook Emergency Number - 732–872-0326 – This is the number to program into your cell and sat phone. This is the number you call when you are directly involved in the emergency.

Sector Sandy Hook Communications – 732-872-3429 – This is the number that someone would call if you were late. Please note that this number is only manned during pseudo business hours.

Sector NY Communications - 718–354-4120 – This is the number that someone would call if you were late. This number is answer 24x7x365 (this is the number I am leaving on my float plans).

Please use this information as a guide and do your own homework to see if this information is applicable to your situation. But since I had seen this discussed previously without a resolution I thought I would share what I learned. But what do the legal eagles say; do your own due diligence don't trust some yahoo on the internet. At least its a starting point.

Thumbs up It could be your kids lives at risk

Im not saying that Im the most prepared, because Im not. I dont go offshore... 21 footer with one motor. But being prepared for something to go wrong is definitely not a bad idea. We know things can happen quickly and preparedness is key.

When the boat is sinking from hitting a log is not the time to try to find a phone number, know which station the coast guard is on or try to figure out your GPS to get your current position.

You lose a friend or family member because you werent prepared and things change forever. Good job James... Just my opinion.
    Thanks

    Greg

I dont' have many degenerate friends that can drop what they are doing to chase fish around the ocean. Most of them spend way to much time running a business. I will make you a deal; I will go fishing more and certainly every time that you stop thinking about business. Deal?
