His 77 pound yellowfin was caught in a canyon 60 miles away from where where their boats were fishing. I doubt that his information was the reason they caught. Someone elses info in the CR network maybe.. but if that was the case maybe we should be thanking some other boat from down south that gave that info to CR? But nooooo Adam would never give another boat credit.
Take, Take, Take, but never GIVE credit.
But wait? I thought no one does it themselves.
I got one how do you haters fell about boats that have a payed crew that fish everday that enter a tournament?

This is a great thread....

That is fine, but when you win, don't come on here WITHOUT thanking them first.
I think that is one of the issues here. CR has a network of 100's of boats that give them info. Where is the thanks to them???
The other issue is the owner of the boat was supposively not even a member. Where do you draw the line?
I love this thread its gone mad.. But is nice to see some people coming out of the wood works.
Looks like there is some major issues here.
I do know one thing that the boat that caught the winning fish pulled into the canyon a mile behind us, so obviously my captain knew where to go, unfournatly we didnt get the bite however just goes to show you there are still people out there who know right where to go without the use of services.
Take it for whats its worth call me an **edited** for actually having the balls to say how i feel i really dont give 2 **edited* to be honest. If more people had the guts to say how they feel this country would be much better off then it is.
Im not calling any individuals out here except the people who love to cast judgment on what i say and dont even know me. I give respect to those who diserve it, you dont get respect you earn it. By workign hard falling and not giving up to become better each time.
Now ive said my piece take it for what its worth, good luck to all in WMO. I now have to go take some little kids fishing.

Jjilman01,
Did I miss you on the Smokin Again? You are correct, we did catch the 77lb tuna in the Wilimington, (is that spot burning?), but the decision to go there was made more out of the size of the boat, the beating the boat and we were going to take due to conditions and the time it would take to get there. As it was, we had information from all involved to either go north like the rest of the fleet to try and catch a bigeye or go to the Baltimore for white marlin. North was out of the question for us, due to conditions and the Baltimore was too far for the conditions, so it was decided to take a chance on the Wilmington. Please believe me when I say we had some second guessing on board by all who was awake about going where we did, because everyone leaving the inlet was going north and we were not, we almost changed direction. Glad we didn't, we only go beat up one way, we caught a nice fish and had a smooth ride home.
Lets talk self-promotion. Any charter boat that posts here is self promoting and they should. I don't know how you run your business, but in my business, we promote everything and any where we can. It use to be the quality of your work spoke for you, this has all changed. We self-promote all the time, advertise every where we can, we have a web site, we pay to play google, email blast out information, do a newletter, give out t-shirts, anything to bring more business in the door. For the charter boat guys, results are what make it happen, pictures and forums like this are the best for them, so charter guys keep it coming.
I will say thank you to Adam and his Canyon Runner organization. He has been nothing but outstanding for my needs. Any information that I have gotten from them was spot on, either where to go, when to go, or the best yet, to not waste my time/money and don't go since nothing was happening in my range. I will continue to use this service as it is best for my needs.

Dante I don't think your an ahole, if anything I respect you you for coming on here and standing up to cr (for lack of better term). Theres probably a lot of guys on here that feel the same way you do, but won't say any thing cause they don't want to be the ones that disagreed with cr so for that much respect. Maybe one day soon we can agree to disagree over a beer or in pit of a boat with tuna laying all over.
Also its Awsome that your taking time out of your day to take kids fishing, nothing better then teaching the next generation how to fish![]()

It is hilarious
Canyon Runner is selling a product "fishing report service". If you don't want the product-don't buy it. If you don't want them using your touney win to promote their product- don't get it and don't let a crew member who gets it on your boat.........
Who knows, maybe one of the winners will NOT like CR using their win to promote their product and will drop out. .. But on the flipside someone might see the winners had access to the report- and buy in!
Good old American enterprise in motion...
Truthfully the whole thing reminds me of the Chic-fil-a deal![]()

lets go back to the paid crew topic ...does it make a victory less worthy if you have a paid crew ?
