It takes skills to catch the gills.
I like big bass and I cannot lie.
A few years back I was walking around the Shark River Inlet and there were people fishing. Of course they couldnt understand english so I couldnt speak with them but several of them had 4 or 5 " either blackfish or sea bass.... they were so small I couldnt even tell what they were. They had buckets of them, and they werent bait.... I know there are only so many Rangers out there but they should spend some time at the inlets instead of at the boat launches all the time.
I have NEVER kept an undersized fish or more than I'm supposed to, but there are people out there that will keep anything. Then they claim ignorence because they dont speak or read english. Bull#$%^ -- they know exactly what they're doing.
Thanks
Greg
Glad they were caught, but what a bunch of BS... He should lose his restaurant!! (Fuleen Meng in Bridgeton) I hope that place tanks due to this.
Also, $19k fine? please. there should be an extra zero in that fine.![]()
your right, with a good lawyer facing 19,000 in fines will be knocked down to 2,500-5,000 in fines plus the small court fees and the "family friend" lawyer free bee....with the amount of money they saved on fish market cost they will be back at it!..... isnt 1 bluefin $10,000 in fines? whats the difference from a striper and bluefin besides its a "federal" fish? the market value so they raise the fine for bluefins?![]()
Seriously, it's such a crock of BS. They will surely be back at it, probably under a different business name, since the spotlight is on them, but no way is the penalty fitting.
I would definitely like to buy a drink for the angler who made the call.

When you shot gun a beer, you catch more crabs...
