Nice Job Rich. I covered a lot of ground to found only short fish. Maybe I should stick to bass and offshore fishing

Sat. We went out to the BA buoy for but only came up with a 10 " ling. We were in 180 feet of water and didn't really mark anything interesting on the sounder.
Stopped east of the rocks for a bunch of short fluke and tiny bass. Fished the reef for more shorts. One 16 lb blue for the fish tacos. Lots of fish, just a bit small.

Now smoking does sound interesting. I might have to give that a try. A friend did some blues and they were terrible. I'd rather have the fish tacos with them. You'd swear it was Mahi. A non fish eater loved them. (bleed, fillet and ice immediately)

    Default Weakfish in the Ambrose.

I haven't caught a tiderunner in SH, Chapel Hill or Ambrose area in years.
This time last year, not targeting weaks and caught a total of 5 spikes, and they of course went back.
Last week, a couple of us got three weakfish of 17" and 18"
near the 21 can & VZ.
Slack water for the weakfish bite. Hope they're making a comeback.
Had a few NY keeper fluke too, and a bunch of NJ legal fish we had to throw back in NY waters.
    Plenty of 15's, 16's & 17's there too.

    Trying again tomorrow.
