So far this year has been ok for me. We use 30 traps and had 3 dz crabs the last trip in about 3 hours with a numer of them just under the limit that went back.

The spring fishing can be great because you have direct access to the flats - when hot you have a unique opportunity to catch very large striper in numbers. Once the water warms up you are left with catfish, perch, and largemouth. As BillC said, the summertime crabbing has been just ok if not disappointing this year, but it should get better as we approach fall. you can also find the schoolie stripers back again in the fall.

spring stripers on the flats is C&R only. When they do open it up to keep fush the big stripers are gone.

rules and regs for spring striper fairly complicated. type gear, type hooks, type bait, open/closed timelines, need saltwater license

read up on MD regs for these if ya going to go for it...

I was out last Friday and took 2 nice baskets from the elk. Up near the Boh. 1st time on the river as I usually crab a bit south an east.
Saw lots of bait getting chased. Didn't bring a rod, but should have.

Fall fishing for stripers can be good there too.Lots of boat traffic all Summer long. Many nicer areas just a little further South if that's an option.

Left Cabin John around noon on Saturday and fished from Abbey Point down to just north of Pooles Island and across to Worton Point. Was pretty windy and fishing was slow, caught a few cats, not much else. To put fish in the boat I stoped to drift a few times and all the perch you could want were there for the taking - some of nice size too. Not a banner day by any means, but a nice summer day on the water.
