Tried watching it this morning and the last artist I saw & was recorded was cold play and Micheal Stipe.

It said in the paper this morning the older line up was chosen because they reached a wider audience and with the age of those fans, had deeper pockets. I'm guessing that's why the younger bands were either 1) not invited or 2) did not attend.

Grohl played drums with McCartney and some other dudes jammed, maybe ex-nirvana for one song. McCartney has been making music for 30 plus years since the Beatles. Only good stuff was with Wings. Thought I was going to hear a good set of Beatles songs after he opened with Helter skelter, but was disappointed. Eric Clapton was awesome. The Who was very good, but Rogers voice is shot. 2 songs by the Stones? WTF?
