    I bought a used boat and can't get the screws loose to change the lower unit oil. Any Tips? I stopped b4 I wrecked the screw heads. Thanks Chris

    Get yourself a impact driver and give it a good wack with a hammer and that should do it.Also I would make sure you buy some new screws for it.

    Impact driver should do the trick. If not youll need to use heat.

    I use a hammer and a punch (or dull chisel) if an impact driver isn't around. Works every time.

    NO, YOU NEED A IMPACT THEY ARE ABOUT 12.00 WHEN YOU WACK IT IT TURNS THE DIRECTION YOU WANT IT OFF BEST LITTLE TOOL FOR ON OUTBOARDS

    I use a hammer and screwdriver.Small hit c/c. worked every time. dave

    ah just buy a new motor. only kiddin impact or screwdriver but dont hit it too hard and do spend the 4.00 for new screws and gaskets.

    Get a long screw driver that has a four sided shaft. Then get a box wrench that fits on the shaft. Hold and push the screw driver with one hand and turn the screw drive with the wrench in the other. This give me the extra power I need.
