I met Bruce today at his shop in Woodbine NJ, "White Knuckles" A Bass Barn Supporter, Bruce has done numerous projects for me in the past.
While at the shop I had discussed with him some problems I had had with my outriggers and misc. aluminum oxidation.
He siad he had good sucess with "EVER BRITE".

We tried alittle bit around his shop, and an employees bumper and seemed to work well. Then I stopped by the boat and gave it a whirl. My outriggers came out really good and even better in the small areas I had put alittle wax and buffed with bronze wool. The gold rod holders that I was ready to have him UNWELD came up like NEW.
This stuff is actually a clear coat, that restores the aluminum and shine, then dries in 5 minutes, I have to say I am hooked, and have alot of work in the spring.

Bruce sold me a kit for $20.00 (applicator, gloves and a small can) A very good deal and money well spent. Bruce will be at the boat show as always with his gorgeous t-top display as well as numerous pictures and cleaning products. If you go to the show, You have to stop by and say hello, I must say he is one hella of a nice guy and if your in the market for aluminum work and you want it done right, use him, his is work Top Notch!!!

Thanks Bruce, See you at the show.

    Question

    Seadated,

I started looking into this stuff, really no more than bookmarked their website, and have some questions:

Being its a polymer coating...how hard it is to apply? What kind of prep work did you do, I would think you want the alum wax free? As well, maybe most importantly, what happens if you drip some, can you clean it off decks and fiberglass? Do I have to/should I mask and spread some plastic? If I'm going to do it, should do it right wich means undoing the t top cover....

Supposed to last 5 years...what happens after that I dont know, hope it doesnt start peeling or something.

It really brought up ugly alum that well huh?

    Mako,
It does not harm Fiberglass, It comes with a soft cloth applicator, the density of the liquid is that of milk, so it really does not drip.

It does smell and you should were surgeons gloves.

I recommend you clean the aluminum very well, I found a fine bronze wool pad with some cleaner/wax type product works well. I then cleaned the area with a clean rag and alittle acetone. Then applied the Ever brite.

I re-visited the boat today and found that i needed a second coat, I will check it out tommorrw and see how it looks after that, and I will report.

Bob: It does work on stainles, but remeber it is a clear coat, so do all prep work first to get the metal clean the best you can than apply.

    Hope this helps.
