    Default On The Bay.....11/6/06

Headed out with my son Steven this morning and south we went. I covered many miles looking for the "right stuff" to get set up. I know the calendar says "November 6" but most of what I saw and experienced today says it's "November 25" but that's another story.

Anyway, set up for the ebb in the 60 and landed 35 " [dinner] 40" [another dinner] 48" [released] and 25" [ released obviously]. All caught on the first of the ebb on chunks. Water 46 in the cove, 53 at high water slack. For the most part, no pickers. We could easily fish a tide with a dozen bunker.

Anyway, that's the way it was.

Twin- great job out there today. Fish a tide with a dozen fresh? After this weekend- I think we need about a dozen every 30 minutes or so! LOL

RoDDAd, Mikey, and I will be out there tomorrow.

You noticed that winer like feel out there too eh Phil? I was keeping my mouth shut yesterday but you're right, it felt like thanksgiving. I sure hope this water temp stabalizes this week or we are in for a short season.

Congrats on the fish BTW... I have to try and get the heck out there again this week before the weather turns..

Tom, I told Joe that we could get away with a dozen fresh on a tide. He said, and I quote, " Are you kidding, I'm fishing with Tommy Guns tomorrow!!" lol

Darrin, yea, it's got that "feel" out there. I hope it's just a bad, passing feeling, but no croakers, no doggies, no ling, no bluefish. Just leaves me scratching my head. But, we know every year is different.

Paul, Freedom looked into his crystal ball 3 weeks ago and told me we were due for a slow year in the bay after all the great years we've had. So if it does come to fruition, we can blame Freedom!! lol

    Phil:
Glad that you got some nice fish today........It looks like you got back in before us, and probably did not have any trouble getting out of the water with the Blowout tide today....... Geo.

Seems to me like the water temp is way down and the all the fish aren't even here yet. Unless there aren't that many fish this year.

All that hard NW has kept bay waters cool, but the ocean is where it should be, and I really think we've got a long way to go for the bay season...although I did get my first horn dogs this past weekend. I hate those things.
