Bottom Paint North Jersey.

Does anyone in North Jersey, Sandy Hook area have someone they would reccomend for bottom paint removal ? my paint is starting to peel a bit and I would like to have it all removed and a smooth coat applied. I don't naad ablative paint, as the boat is stored on it's trailer at the marina. I was gonna do it myself over the winter, but, I guess I spent too much time hunting.

If you put it back on the trailor after every trip , get rid of the paint thats peeling and don't worry about it. Hose the bottom off and your set.

I would do that but it looks like hell. I have charters on occasion and flaking bottom paint just doesn't look professional. There seems to be a light blue transparent looking barrier coat under the bottom paint so it looks like quite a job to get it back to clean gelcoat, so I figured just strip the bottom and put a smooth fresh coat on for looks.

Yep, I run out of Atlantic Highlands. Great fishing but the canyons are quite a hike from there !!

There is a guy around the bend from Atlantic Highlands Marina named John Luchs (not sure about the spelling). He does a great job on bottoms.
