A short article on Wikipedia on Connemara. Made by Cooley's distillery and according to the write up they have won over 100 awards for their whiskey in the past ten years. Made with a Spring barley crop in an old potato factory. How appropriate.

Try the Clontarf, smoother than Jamesons. I need to pick up a bottle soon, winter's setting in.

I don't drink a lot, so buying top shelf isn't a killer, but when I do , I prefer quality.

Thumbs up

I agree Jameson is smoother a bit but it is all very good. Iris Mist is really nice to sip late in the evening. Just remember candy is dandy but liquior is quicker.

When I was an engineer for Nike we built a plant in Ireland. On our off hours we joined the locals at the Pub
One of their favorite evening drinks was; a shot and a half of Baileys with a shot of Jamesons in it! I still drink that today.

I like Jameson, but next time try Clontarf, won't be disappointed, an excellent Irish whiskey. About same price as Jameson, little smoother with a nice after tatse.

Tullamore Dew is good too, but a step behind Jameson or Clontarf.

Can honestly say I have never tried Bushmills as a matter of outdated priniple.
I noticed that when in Dublin last NOV...if you even mentioned bushmills in the pubs you got the dirty looks from the locals...one guy told me "ya dont say that round here if ya know whats good for ya"

Heard Celtic Crossing is good too, may have to try a bottle.
Ahh Fight Juice. That's what a buddy in college used to call it. Nothing like finishing a night of drinking pints of Planter's Punches w/ some Irish Mist. $2 drink nights @ G-man- my liver is twitching just thinking about them.

You guys should really give these 2 a shot, Powers & Paddy. IMHO they are both better than either Jameson or Bushmills or Tullymore
