Got out to the fleet by 6:15 AM … smooth as glass out there … after watching Fred on TV, I went with hooks that had a 2 ft leader … using minnows, (in the following order) got a 10”, a 13 ½”, a 15” then at the top of tide got Mr. keeper/18½”er … back at the dock by 9:30 …

Congrats on the keeper, Joe. I don't think I got any yak keepers this year. Lots of throwbacks, but no keepers.

I fish mostly in the Ocean City, Somers Point area. There are a bunch of spots to launch to access the back bays. Most launches are close to bridges too.

Hi (and welcome back) – maybe one of the folks will chime in about the kid that went for a yak/striper version of a Nantucket sleigh ride (where the 50 lb striper pulled him around for awhile)

I don't know what's more enticing; the guitar or that sod bank right off of your deck. That's gotta be a striper magnet.

Wasn't there a club band in the early/mid-'80s called the Salty Dogs?

Hi, (welcome to the Barn) ... myself and a few of the guys were in bands in the 80's ... I don't remember them ...

the name sure has gotten some use .... there was an old jazz band and now there is a pretty big country band (see photo)

I look forward to buying you a beer at our next gig!

Joe

Thanks for the welcome. I played bass for a few blues/roots/rock n' roll bands up until a few years ago. Nothing serious but fun.

Let me know when you play.
Mark

Salty Dog was a hard-rock band formed in late 1986 in Los Angeles by Jimmi Bleacher, Scott Lane, Michael Hannon and Khurt Maier. The band released its first and only major-label record in 1990, titled "Every Dog Has Its Day," composed of all original songs except for a cover of Willie Dixon's Spoonful. The band, like many other hard-rock/metal bands in the early 1990s, were lost in the shuffle when the grunge-rock movement hit in late 1991 and swept the nation in 1992
