Thumbs up 11-6 Striper Report with Pix!!!

Fished out back with roommate andrew from 1:30-3:30pm with freds clam bellies, but this time, it wasn't to be!! Tide was screaming out and we got the skunk with the clams (not even a touch) !!

So we changed to artificials and went on the search. Shortly after we found 7 bass to just 22" until the tide stopped around dusk. Sure did save the day, lots of weeds everywhere while clamming.

Winds were whipping too, NNW around 20knots, glad to see those winds lay down tonight.

Fred weighed me in an 18lber yesterday that i caught in the back.
I missed a 50 incher after a 30 minute fight. I got him to the boat and he took off, almost emptying the spool on one of my heavier rods with 40 lb test.
I saw you heading out but a little too windy for me today.
I am goin to hit the incoming and catch the out going tomorrow.
Hopefully it will lay down and the bite will be on.

I fished the north spot and then up the creek and picked 3 shorts up to 22". Some guy anchored up RIGHT next to me and was annoying. Making noise with his radio, banging crap etc.

I decide to head south and BAM! The one Fred weighed was 35 plus inches and if I had somone else onboard I could of gaffed the 50".
Picked up 5 shorts as well in my North spot.

We fished the Del. Bay on Tuesday. They were calling for 4 to 7 foot seas with a small craft advisory. You could have been out gthere in your boat. It was like glass. The smallest fish we had was 42". The guy I went with. His net broke and it turned into extreme fishing. I told him that fish was not going to fit into that net and I was right. They were grabbing the fish with their hands when they got to the boat.
He lost a real nice fat cow that would have really tipped the scales.

Way to save the day with artificials steve-o. I was out wed. night and thursday morning. I was hooked up twice and lost both fish thur morning. The second one being 30in +.

Grassysound what rig do you run in the back? If it is the boat i am thinking of I saw the other boat pull up and anchored within 20 yards of you.

Yep That was most likely me. He pulled up right next to me and was sitting there talking to himself. Banging the anchor etc. I try to be as quiet as possible so I do not SPOOK the fish. Especially up in that creek.
The wave runners used to be bad enough during flounder season.

Rig: I use a 7/0 or 8/0 circle hook with a fishfinder.
I use FRESH already shucked clams that I get from Fred over at Harborview and mix it up with some bellies from No Bones.

Today looks like it is going to be nice! See you out there.

Now that I'm thinking about it Steve, bring a decent pluggin stick back to school with you with bunker snags. I've got some spots where there's fish to over thirty not too far away. I just hope the bait is still there... If it is I'll fish every night this week.
