Looks like I'll go with Colton, rather than beat this thread up too much. Thanks for the responses.

Gimme a call and I'll see what I can do for your budget.. 570-832-4362 or bob@coltonfly.com

Been a busy as heck for a while now. Wish I had more time to post. I miss the old days doing fly swaps and stuff. Now I am happy if I get 6 hours of sleep!

Tight lines, Bob

I would reccomend Reddington rods as a nice starting point. In all honesty any used rod made in the last 10 years has plenty of umph to get you started. There is no need to spend $300.00 on a fly outfit to get started, you can get a decent combo for $100.00 (+/-) from Cabela's or Bass Pro or by keeping an eye out on the classifieds here.

Great sport but no need to spend the money UNTIL you are addicted, then you'll NEED to spend the $$

Waste

As you can tell there are alot of good rods and reels on the market. I was just getting ready to sell some of my fly equipment because I have toooo much. If you are interested I have a brand new, never used 10 wt fly rod. Its a COLTON 9ft Perfect for the blues and stripers. Along with the rod, I have two used, but great condition Colton fly reels. It was the first model that Bob sold. You can check on the barn and see all the good reports about COLTON equipment. If you are interested I'll enclude two spare spools with backing for the spools. I use COLTON alot for bass but have too many extra. Fly guys have a habit of getting too many rods and reels. I am askin $300 for everything. ( plus shipping ) The set up will be perfect for getting started. Get back to me if you are interested. The rod comes with bag and carring case.
