WHERE CAN I SIGN UP! I had an experiance last season when I was fishing a certain bridge at night. When I got to the spot there were 20 people fishing the one side of the bridge. My friend and I decided to fish the other side where no one was fishing. Well to make a long story short I hooked up with a really nice 31". Well I'm sure you guys know the rest of the story. Damn muggers!

Sadly, if you do not want things like that to happen you should keep driving over a bridge that has 20 people on it. Same thing with the surf, if you are fishing a crowd you need to expect these things to happen.

The bite can be much better in concentrated areas, but you can catch fish elsewhere and you need to ask yourself if the crowds are worth it.

Unless you fish the late night/early am bite there will always be muggers. I don't think most of them know what they are doing, but just like the spot burning argument I dont think alot of them care to be educated.

Show me a good fisherman who mugs and I'll be the first to scream a$$hole, but what does Joe Schoe with his salted clams and two ounce bank sinkers know about any of this?

Ryan,
That is why I feel it is my job to educate them. I think I can tell the difference between the goog and the experienced fisherman. The goog I will simply explain to them what they are doing wrong and what they can do to fix the problem. I will tell them that he needs $20.00 to go buy 3 Sputnick sinkers in 4, 5 & 6 oz because the next time his line rolls down the beach into my set up and tangles me up for the 5th time I am cutting his line.

My favorite experince was when this one guy kept drifting down on me and expected that I untangle the lines since I had briad and he didn't want to cut his hands.

I think your right the experienced guys know the right thing to do most of the time but there are a few that need to be reminded from time to time.
