Default Tog in the sound ?

Looking for a little info about tog fishing in the sound. I would coming from NY harbor area up the east river. I was wondering how far up into the sound you have to go. i have read tons of structure and rock piles at the beggining of the sound on a couple of charts. Was just wondering if this is a good place to start trying. Areas like the stepping stones and the deep reef look promising. Thanks for any feed back.

Default Togland

Unlike the NJ Shore...LI Sound is loaded with structure.Slightly north of stepping stones is New Rochelle, Larchmont and Rye...you'll find some fine in-shore blackfish. If you can get some fiddlers you'll be all set. Day in and day out just better fishing in the sound than in-shore NJ...50 years of experience. Try www.noreast.com

Thumbs up

Other posters are correct-the LI Sound is LOADED with structure for tautog (and stripers ). I would try the spots that you have marked already, as well as stuff you notice on a chart. Having grown up in Huntington, LI, I fished structure all the time out there. At a minimum, you can find boulders everywhere, right up to the beach.
