We headed out for some striper action with Tom P. from Rack and Fins radio and his crew. We headed south and trolled for about an hour in seas that were just a bit more than what was forecast.

Without a runoff it seemed like it was going to be a slow day and then our white spoon takes a run like a trophy striper but doesnt slow at all for a long time. We are eventually down to the backing and start cranking up the drag. Our angler was Denise and boy did she put a beating on the fish and just kept asking for more.

Capt Jake had us backing down and pivoting from side to side like we were on a marlin due to the small penn 113 the fish was on. After about 45 minutes we see Mr. Whiptail hooked right in the top 1/3 of the tail. He took a few more runs until we finally got it boatside and were able to get a flyer into him.

Weighed him in at Hoffmans at 231 pounds. It was a great day and the Capt,Crew, and angler pulled it together to land a nice Thresher on lite tackle and a Maja Spoon.
