Thumbs up

Hey guys, another beautiful day in Cape May! Ya' can't beat this weather for the end of March. Sunny, calm, and fairly warm conditions dominated. We fished a variety of spots in several different areas thru the morning, and had a bite at the very end of the flood tide and for the first hour of the ebb it was pretty good! We released a good number of would-be slot fish, and also kept some nice fish in the 29" to 33" range. Tomorrow morning looks like another nice one, so I am looking forward to getting back out on the water! There are fish in most of the usual haunts, so get out there and get 'em! I'l have some pics from today's trip posted tomorrow when I get my camera off the boat!

Just can't believe that Bob outfished Brian on your trip today. Looking forward to later in the month to "pop the cherry".

Posted this on one of the earlier reports.

One quick question, what pound test line do you use for stripers in the rips and what action/size rod and reel do you recommend?

See you on the 15th and thanks for the reports.

Thanks, guys!

Scott - we'll be on the meat for the 15th morning trip! Don't worry!

Herb - Brian kept missing fish and hitting me in the face/arm/neck with his bait/lure! Tell him I hope he gets his trolling motor soon!! HAHA! Can't wait to get you out there on the 11th and take care of that cherry once and for all!

Joe - we use 15lb. spinning rods for bassing in the rips and up the bay. The boat's rods are medium action spinning set ups with Penn 4400 and 4500SS reels on 'em. They work great!

Jer - hope the South blow holds off 'till the afternoon hours.

Capt Ed - thanks, and keep whacking 'em on the Susky flats! You guys are on fire down there, too!

Nice job Adam. Can't wait for the 8th,10th and the 14th.
Hope Joe can make one of those trips, if not give him a shout out for me. Ask him if he wants to go to the old grounds this summer? We may need the chum.

Jim, I am looking forward to fishing with you! This summer, we'll have to bring Joe C. along for some free chum!

Tom, thanks! I have a pic of yourself on the dock, but none with Tony and Joe C. Maybe it was on another camera? I agree...this spring's start has been great! I have an open trip sailing Sunday afternoon. Let me know if you'd like to jump on, and I'll e-mail you the picture!
