Thumbs up

Inlet was on fire today. Schools of herring and silversides all around. Jigged up two nice bass, caught a total of 5!!! Action was hot right at dusk. Answered a lot of my own questions today. Yesterday's sports page was the best I could do, sorry. Still on, gotta love it!!

Nice to heard of some early new year action. What inlet were you fishing? and what was the water temperature? With these nice warm days it makes you want to put the boat back in the water.

The one on the left needs a Jenny Craig consult
RQ, make a one day road trip. That's what I used to do. The 24 hour flu is going around.

I am confused. I thought that the Striper season was closed. Are there some special regulations that I don't know about. I was pretty sure that it was illegal to fish for them in the back bay, and especially to keep them from Dec 31st to March 1.

Any info would be appreciated. Did they change the law this year?

GREAT POST!!! I just happened to take a road trip down to Avalon sunday afternoon, got there around 3 pm, and my FIRST stop was the inlet,it looked like the dead zone.NO birds, no bustin' fish,no activity at all....EXEPT one guy bye himself in a small skiff, pulling up to the bridge, then drifting away from it!!one dead stick, and jiggin' with the other.Did not see him catch anything, but he was fishing in closed striped bass waters,NOT saying he was fishing for bass...Shortly after that I greeted the Miss Chris as she pulled in,they got a couple of fish, enough for a story, not enough to keep every on happy! that's why they call it "fishin"

Dr. Bass,

I know it is legal to catch and possess on the ocean side of the COLREGS Line, but the question is can you possess them when you are going back to port inside the COLREGS Line??
