As stated in the previous post by Stalker Charters, Striper13 ("The Legend"), BOHICA (great acronym), Sea Devil ("I Don't Know How To Bucktail), Glenn (I Forgot My BassBarn Password), Phoenixville Dick (Now You Have A Barn Handle...Stop Lurking) and Captain Skip (The Animal) decided to venture out one last time before hibernating for the winter.

We started out with calm seas and a light breeze, Skip was the first to hook up with a schoolie (that's what happens when you get to fish the virgin water before your paying customers do)

Glenn was next with a keeper, then Dick nailed a nice one. Sea Devil was next and then Striper13 got into one. By now, I was in familiar territory...skunk city, with BOHICA right with me. Glenn got another and Sea Devil a couple more. Dick chimed in again as did Striper13, but BOHICA and I were still fishless. Finally I got one and added 3 more by the end of the day.

BOHICA tried everything, changing rods, reels and bucktails, all to no avail. (By the way, that was one fine birds-nest you had on that conventional rod, I nominate you to be the BassBarn casting instructor) At last he finally broke the jinx and there were high fives all around.

With all of our lines in the water, it was surprising that we didn't have more crossed lines. Unfortunately, the only tangles we had were with Badfinger...and he wasn't even on our boat.

I have to tell you, these guys were the most polite "Fish Killers" that I have ever spent the day with. Unlike on the Mega Bites, where they gaff first and ask questions later, this crew would gently net, lip or lift the fish before finally THUNKING them onto the deck. These guys also didn't laugh at me for asking to release my fish, probably because they didn't think that I would catch any.

Anyway, we were stuck on 29 fish and had to reach 30 to make this trip extra special. The wind picked up, the storm was approaching and the fish got lockjaw. We all put on our "rally caps", except Striper13, since he was wearing a skicap we couldn't tell if he put it on backward or not.

Glenn nailed the 30th fish on one of the final drifts.

High hook(s) for the day were Striper13 and Sea Devil, with 7 each.

A great day with some great anglers. We couldn't ask for a better way to end/begin the new season.

Thanks guys, see you again in the spring.

Steve, nice re-cap of our great day. I would like to add that I tried chewing tabacco, cigarettes and beer to lift the jinx on me yesterday and nothing worked. It was my worst outing in the rips yet but was still a great day. Good guys all around and if you recall we released 23 out of 30 fish caught. Nice day of catch and release. You're still on for a guided trip fly fishing your area. Talk to you soon. E-mail Michael.Madison@Wachovia.com.

Steve,
Great to hear ya got the boat skunk off your back. The reason those guys didn't have too much fun at your expense is probably because they figured you couldn't take anymore after the Mega Bytes slaughter. I was kinda hoping to read that Sea Devil had to put you in his shirt pocket. Keep up your Thunkin. HAPPY DAYS.

BOHICA,
Maybe if you changed your handle the fishing and other aspects in life might change. HAPPY DAYS.

BOHICA,
It takes away the element of surprise when you look so forward to it. You might want to rig up a cathcers mitt, so it won't hurt as much. HAPPY DAYS.
