not hard to get in as there is no fences, gates, etc but they have a constant patrol
I think without a boat ((which is an extra charge from the membership fee) it really isn't worth it, campsites line almost all of the banks..I have fished there a handful of times and have caught the biggest bass, pickerel and crappie of my life..There is also northern pike, walleye, cats, carp, etc
If you live in Phila, lower Bucks county, Trenton area and want to put a boat with unlimited horsepower in its there or the river or you can tow up to the Pack, Beltzville etc for the low low cost of gas....
Whooooa, hold on here, pay 700 bucks to join a club to fish only, no hunting??? Its a lifetime membership, right? I hope it is. Crazy. just crazy. Do I get a jacket or something cool? Flippin' Crazy.
It doesnt say anything about hunting, just that it was used for hunting when it first opened, but now open to fishing and boating recreation? sounds expensive
The fees mentioned are correct and that is annual. Hunting is by lottery only for small game and deer.
Also has basic camping sites, no water, etc.
There are 3 lakes:
Van Sciver the largest has Bass, large & Small mouth, great Crappie, walleye, pike and musky. This is a spring fed, clear water lake that has depths up to 35 feet.
Manor Lake is smaller by 2/3rds and is a shallow, grassy lake. Bepth up to 12' in a few areas, I think 8' is the median depth. Good large mouth, crappie, and pickeral and an occasional Pike
Morrissville is the smaller lake, IMO not worth the effort
It sounds cool, and its great that you enjoy it. I just dont think I personally, could spend that kind of cash to fish sweetwater...looks like every bit of a thousand to take a boat with a motor there...Almost a tuna trip in my eyes
Thats a nice bass...my biggest LMB is prolly 2-3 pounds, surprisingly, I have caught bigger smallies than Large mouths I'm used to the avg. SJ bass, which is usually a pound or less, but I can catch 20-30 of those a day
