Went on a road trip today to see if we could find this lake, found it, had to hike back to see it, no ramp or access roads yet, Gin clear water, only SMB's, it looks really sweet and the best thing is its going to be a catch and release lake till 2012 than it will be reaccessed,
I visited Lake Audrey this afternoon and took a bunch of photos. I posted them on the SJBCA site at . There was only ice in the very backs of some of the coves, but with the cold temps expected this weekend it probably won't be that way on Monday.
Just drove out there..she's about 90% locked up with ice. The "BOAT LAUNCH" area is iced around the edge, and then open water for about 20 or 30 yards out and then it looks like the ice is gettin pretty thick. The gate is open however....hopefully they do SOMETHING for a boat ramp, because once this ground thaws, a 4x4 is going to be the only option for launching.
I took a couple dozen casts from the new ramp area this afternoon. No takers. I'm guessing it's going to be frozen over for at least the next few weeks.
Wow I was just reading an article on this lake and I wasn't aware that this was a smallie only lake. Thats awesome. I love the Largie but their fight don't compare to their smaller cousins.
That won't deter some people from taking a fish if its trophy size. Maybe some of us barners should put up a bulletin of information of how/where to get a replica wall mount done. You'd be surprised how many people don't know about it.
My lakes banks out to main channel are still frozen as well I'm going Dog fishing again going to get that Fat Lab/Collie pulling out all the stops for that LUNKER:thumbsup:
Won't be open for a while. I'll let you guys know.
