    Default Crappies at Marsh Creek

My son and I went over to Marsh Creek Lake in Chester County PA and did well on crappies from shore. He was using Gulp minnows and I was using live minnows. Switched to wax worms then hit the bluegills pretty good. Kept 3 crappie and two sunfish for my pond. Released the rest.

They were decent this time. Maybe 9 inches. In years past, a lot of dinks. We signed a petition to get size limits on panfish there. Too many people keeping trash bags of small fish.

Glad to hear you got into them with your son. Used to ice fish there way back when and caught some nice perch, gills and crappie.

It can be a tricky lake to fish. We actually do better from shore than from the boat there.

We also saw a 50+ inch musky cruising along the shore. Like, 3 feet from the shore line. It was pretty impressive.
