    Default Saturday Road Trip

Wife had knee surgery in the spring and had not been on the boat yet. We planned a trip to Cape May to pick up my daughter in law and have lunch. Couldn’t have asked for better weather to make the run.

Arrived at Lobster house to find all dock space taken by 2 boats so went to plan B, called utsch’s and got a day slip. I haven’t been out of there in 25 years and didn’t recall so much shallow water in the harbor.

Got an outside table, watched 2 people lose shrimp to the seagulls, good lunch and great to be out with family.

When we left for return trip the harbor looked like a scene from caddy shack. Son wanted to take a rod and I discouraged it, of course as we approached Brandywine Light there were birds working like I haven’t seen in years.

Oh well, great trip and good time had by all.

Yes, only problem the girls had such a good time they are already planning next trip, probably Irish eyes in Lewis as I think they have docking.

Yeah I guess it becomes a problem to come all the way over and not be able to dock at the restaurant.

Have you ever traveled through the C&D canal to the Chesapeake?

Years ago had a friend who had a sailboat in the Chesapeake and we made the run up there. That was a pretty cool trip, luckily we had great weather.

The Harbor View has dock space also. Won’t get a lobster house meal but it has a great atmosphere and music.
