    Default Fishing the East

There's a great local TV show on sat. 6:30A on Ch.25 Comcast. It's produced by a guy name Bo Higbee and it's all about local areas to fish, like Brigantine, Atlantic City, Margate, Cape May. And on a couple of the episodes he fishes with Dave from Absecon Bay Sportsman Center. So if your tired of watching fishing shows about Large Mouth Bass, this is the show to watch.

The show is interesting and while he uses bait often, when he is using artificials and jigs, would like him to show what he uses and more importantly, discuss why he is using it.

Very true, there isn't a lot of discussion. But if your looking for spots, it's pretty obvious exactly where he is fishing. I've only watched about 6 shows, but it's the most local show around, besides Chunking's shows which I believe should be starting up soon. Does any know when and where Fred's show will begin airing?

Fred's shows start up the first week in June. Can't recall the day/channel exactly but think it's WACP on Thursdays at 6 or 6:30 PM.

Fishing the East - World Fishing Network Ch. 727 on Comcast Wildwood - On Demand too. Mostly of the AC/Absecon area. "Guatmela Dave" here on the BassBarn is the the star (Dave Showell of Absecon Bay Outfitters/Tackle Shop).

I remember watching Bo Higbee fish the back bays when I was a teenager, about 20 years ago. Are these new shows? Or just reruns from ages ago?

Bo makes maybe 2 new shows a year, then they run the show from the last 20 years. Funny after 20 years of filming a fishing show, every time Bo reels in a fish it looks like the first time he touched a rod. He reminds me of my little girl reeling in a sunny.

Simple man, you are 100% right. He has to be the worst fishermen with a show on tv by far. I was watching an episode from the early 2000's and he caught a common fish (I think it was an oyster cracker or something along those lines) and he had no idea what it was. There are so many times where you can tell the guy is clueless. He seems like a nice guy but I can only tolerate so much of him. I have about 40 unwatched reruns on my dvr I need to watch or delete. I certainly picked up a few helpful tips for fishing common areas, but you surely don't watch that show for technique.

He looks like he's waving a magic wand when he's reeling in a fish.
